Get The Life You Want With "The Secret"?





This article was written for one purpose: To explain to you as effectively as possible, exactly what you can do to have everything in your life that you can possibly imagine. And since that is such a tall order, I need to be able to explain how to do that in a way that does not seem "hocus-pocus" or require you to adopt some kind of "new-age" belief system, because I would lose a great many of those I am trying to reach if I went that route.
I bet you're wondering, "What is the secret?" I'll tell you:
In a nutshell, the universe works for you. Everything you could ever want or need, you can have. All you have to do is train your mind, which sounds kind of difficult, but it really isn't. The Secret revolves around the Law of Attraction, which means "like attracts like." Basically, everything that's coming into your life, good or bad, you attracted into your life. Want to know how? Your thoughts. Every thought you have has a frequency; some larger than others. We can literally measure a thought. If you continuously think about what you want, you're emitting that frequency on a consistent basis. Every thought you have sends out a message to the universe. The universe works around your thoughts. If you think negatively, negative things will be attracted into your life and vice-versa. The secret gives you everything you could ever want: happiness, health, and wealth.



These principles are something of a "hidden secret" because although the world’s wealthiest individuals have gained their wealth through the utilization of these principles, they have not always been consciously aware that they were doing so. In this book we reveal what all wealthy people have in common, and how you can easily model their process for attracting wealth of any level.



The trick here is that to explain how you can literally manifest (an interesting word that scares off more than its fair share of people) anything you can imagine ... and furthermore to prove that it is, in fact your duty to do so - I need to get into some very unusual areas of science that are quite foreign to many people. You are going to finally learn why other approaches you may have tried in the past have failed to bring you the results you want. And actually, the reason is so simple! However, it is not so "easy" to explain.



When I first discovered these principles in the way that I am going to present them to you here, I was really struggling financially working as a Nurse. I believed (and still do) in what I was teaching at the time in terms of how to go about living your life by design, but there were some serious missing pieces to the puzzle.



I finally found those pieces, and I turned everything around in only a couple of months. I am going to show you how you can do the same.
I will share with you that being a "teacher" of these principles can be tricky business.
On one hand, I have the privilege of sharing what I believe to be the most exciting principles available for our use as human beings, because they truly give us access to anything we want. We are all "wizards in waiting", and we only need be awakened to our ability before we can literally wave our magic wands and experience anything we desire.



The other side of the coin however, is that the information I am going to share with you can be quite confronting. Because when it comes down to it, your current situation ... whatever that may be ... is a direct result of what you are feeling, thinking, and believing. Unless you can take full responsibility for where you are now, you will never fully have control over where you are going. Many people do not like to hear that. They feel much more comfortable pointing at external factors and placing the blame for their situation outside of themselves. It is just easier that way. And society has given these people plenty of ammunition to support whatever beliefs of being limited they may have.



But if we were really "controlled" by external situations, it would mean that we really have no freedom to decide our own destiny. It would mean that our environment was the ultimate deciding factor as to whether we would succeed or fail. We would simply be "reacting" our way through life. But do you honestly believe that we were put here on this planet to simply react to our environment? Oh sure, some people "react" just fine and are quite successful without any knowledge of the Law of Attraction whatsoever. Nonetheless, it is the Law of Attraction, which I will describe shortly, that determines their success.



Many people, however, do not do well by living in "reaction". They consider themselves victims. They believe they were dealt a "bad hand". Or worse, they simply do not believe they deserve the absolute best that life has to offer. As a result, they run around in circles in victim mode, perhaps buying libraries of self-help books, saying to themselves, "I hope THIS works" not realizing that they have all sorts of self-defeating conversations running at a subconscious level that will render even the most effective self-help material totally ineffective.



You can change all of that for yourself. You are deserving of whatever you want. You truly are. This is one of the most important truths you can come to understand. It is truly unreasonable just how much wealth you can create using the Law of Attraction. At first, it may seem that what we talk about "defies logic", but in fact, it demonstrates perfect, scientific fact.



If you have ever seen someone with seemingly unlimited monetary resources and ever thought "they have so much money it is ridiculous", that is precisely the kind of wealth we are talking about helping you develop starting immediately. And it is so simple, if you let it be.
It is your ability to "suspend reason" that allows you to have success with these principles. Many of us come from very analytic backgrounds and we have a hard time just blindly accepting new concepts, particularly if they seem to fly in the face of everything we have ever learned. Many of you will be confronted with these kinds of thoughts ... and that is okay. It is people like you for whom this article was specifically written. And it is all built around this one crucial principle:

As you begin to understand that everything in creation is based on a system of Energy - and when you learn some very basic things about how this Energy behaves - you will begin to unleash a creative force in your life that will seem miraculous.

It could be called magic, but it's actually pure science. Know what you want, feel and thus "vibrate" that you have it, and it will come racing toward your experience of reality to the extent that you allow it.
It's not just a good idea. It's the Law.

There are three important steps on how to use the secret correctly.


Step one: Ask. You must ask the universe for what you want. Just ask for it. Eventually you'll get it. Every time. Guaranteed. There are no limits. Nothing is too big or too small. Literally, anything you want or ask for you will receive, due to the Law of Attraction. Somehow, one way or another, the universe will work around your thoughts to give you what you want. Period.


Step two: Believe. You must believe you will get what you've asked for. You have to truly know inside your mind that whatever you've asked for is on its way to you. If you see it in your mind, you have to know, soon enough, you will see it in your hands. Use this step by remembering three simple words: Thoughts. Become. Things. Ask for two-hundred dollars and believe you will, in a certain amount of time, receive two-hundred dollars. It's that simple.


Step three: Receive. Be ready to get what you want. Expect what you've asked for to be in your hands shortly. Prepare for what you've asked for. If you want two-hundred bucks, right out a check to yourself for two-hundred bucks. Act like you already have the two-hundred bucks in your hands and you will have two-hundred bucks in your hand.


Positive thoughts have a much higher frequency than negative thoughts because positive thoughts fill you with joy. Joy is another important key factor to effectively applying the secret. Feel good all the time. If involved in a negative situation, turn it into a positive situation and any future situation you will encounter, if using the secret correctly, will also be positive. Again, like attracts like. The secret does not only apply to money, but relationships, health, and other things as well. The secret literally applies to anything and everything you could ever want or need. All you have to do is ask! It's that easy!


I have been using the secret since the day I read the first couple chapters and my life has completely changed. I was working in a career as a Registered nurse for years. I was helping others live their best lives but I wasn't living mine! When I decided to use the Law of Attraction in my life, I quickly found a business for myself within the Personal Development industry! I have since proven, again and again, how I can control my life using these principles. I now have the financial freedom as well as health and a true vigor for life! It was not an easy transition, to stop doing what I was familiar with and do something completely new, but each day I got closer to my goals and within a short time I was living the life I really wanted. Twitter(ing) For Cash!

There’s been a great deal of articles on how Twitter can be used for marketing purposes and I think most of them can be condensed to the simple aim of tracking and directing attention. Twitter allows you to monitor how influencers think or feel, you can also get into their attention zone via active networking.
For businesses, Twitter is another channel which connects current and potential customers with your product or brand. It allows deeply infiltration into the lifestyles of interested participants, which helps to build brand persistence/loyalty.
In its most obvious form, Twitter can be seen as a traffic generation tool. The placement of links within profiles and conversations can direct visitors to a specific website and is especially powerful if you pitch to early adopters and influencers.
As a lead acquisition tool, it doesn’t always reach the audience you want. Most Twitter users are somewhat web savvy and it is extremely difficult to target a specific subset of the general demographic and determine their level of potential interest.


I’ve signed up for a Twitter account a long time ago and used it sporadically because it never really did appeal to me. Last week I decided to give it another chance and installed Snitter, a desktop application for Twitter.

You’ll just need to integrate it within your normal workflow. It’s addictive but once you understand how to use it, it’ll be a very effective tool indeed.
Having read a great deal of other articles on Twitter, I decided a do a quick summary of all the ways you can use Twitter for both your professional or personal life. Some of these methods go beyond the use of Twitter as a lifestreaming device:
Personal Branding. Twitter is a social media platform you can use to build your personal brand. It has the primary benefit of developing a casual persona and establishes you as a social personality that is connected and approachable. As Twitter adoption increases, new users will be drawn towards well established Twitter personas.
Get Feedback. Need an alternative perspective on how a website looks or the right course of action to take? Blast out a message asking for advice and you’ll receive replies from other users. This collective intelligence can be used as fodder for articles or projects.
Hire People. Need a good logo designer, marketer or programmer? Send out a message asking for recommendations. This is a very quick and easy way to hire freelancers or even companies based on familiar recommendations.
Direct traffic. Twitter can be used to get traffic to your websites or the sites of friends. If you ask your friends to tweet about it, the message will spread faster and further as other active users pick it up. There is a viral nature to all types of news, even on a site like Twitter.
Read News. Twitter users often link to useful sites or articles and can be a source of scoops and alternative news. You can also subscribe to Twitter feeds for specific websites/conferences, which allows you to receive and view content quickly. This is very useful for active social news participants.
Make New Friends. Like any other social network, Twitter has a built-in function for you to befriend and track the messages of other users. This is an easy way for you connect with people outside of your usual circle. Make an effort to add active users you find interesting. A Twitter acquaintance can be developed into a long lasting friendship.
Network for benefits. Twitter can be used as a socializing platform for you to interact with other like-minded people, especially those in the same industry. It can be used to establish consistent and deeper relationships for future benefits such as testimonials or peer recommendations.
Use it as a ToDo list. Use Twitter to record down what you need to do while you are away from the computer. Mark the tweet as a favorite to file it for referencing. Another alternative is to use an Online task management service that is synced with Twitter. One example is Remember The Milk.
Business Management. Twitter can be used as a company intranet that connects employees to one another. Workers can liaise with each other when working on group projects. Particularly useful when certain workers go out often in the field. Updates could be set to private for security reasons.
Notify Your Customers. Set up a Twitter feed for the specific purpose of notifying customers when new products come in. Customers can subscribe via mobile or RSS for instant notification. Twitter can also be used to provide mini-updates for one-on-one clients.
Take Notes. Twitter provides you with an easy way to record important ideas or concepts you want to explore further. Include links relevant to ideas you want to explore. Note taking can also be done offline via mobile applications.
Event Updates. Businesses can use Twitter as a means to inform event participants and latest event happenings/changes. This is a hassle-free way of disseminating information, especially when you don’t have the means to set up a direct mobile link between you and the audience
Find Prospects. Twitter can be used as a means to find potential customers or clients online. Do a search for keywords related to your product on Twitter Search and then follow users. Tweet about topics parallel to your product and close prospects away from public channels by using direct messages or offline communications. Discretion and skill is needed in this area.
Provide Live coverage. Twitter’s message size limit prevents detailed coverage of events but it can allow you to provide real-time commentary which may help to spark further discussion or interest on the event as other Twitter users spread the message. Very useful for citizen journalism.
Time Management and Analysis. Twitter can simply be used to keep a detailed record of what you are doing every daily. This might be boring for others but this type of usage is useful when you want to analyze how you spend and manage your time.
Set Up Meetings. Twitter can help you organize impromptu meetups. For example, you can twitter a message while at a cafe, event or art gallery and arrange to meet fellow users at a specific spot. It’s an informal and casual way of arranging a meeting.
Acquire Votes. Send a link to your stories you’ve submitted in other social news sites like Digg. Sometimes your followers will vote up the stories because they agree with it. This allows you to acquire more support for your efforts on other social media websites.

Google Adwords Quality Score?



With so much competition at Google Adwords how do you get a leg up on your competitors? The good news is that a lot of advertisers aren't using Adwords properly. You take advantage of this fact, to out perform them.
The main criteria Google judges your campaign on is Quality Score. The purpose of this article is to teach you how to blow away your competitors, so we won't get into a lengthy discussion of how QS works, that would be a whole other article. I will tell you how to get a high QS and this will lead to a better campaign performance than most of your competitors are achieving.
Google judges quality score by relevancy. Relevancy is the most important factor at Google. It really is the most important factor anywhere you advertise. Searchers want to find relevant information. Google takes this further by rewarding those who are highly relevant and penalising those who are not. They do this by setting a minimum bid. If you have a high QS your minimum bid is low. A low minimum bid means cheaper traffic.
In turn a low QS means a high minimum bid which means costly traffic. Think of it this way. A lot of your competitors will have mediocre QS which means there site is only somewhat relevant and there traffic is costly. This means that they are spending quite a bit on traffic that is likely converting marginally due to the fact that they are not very relevant to the searchers.
You have a high QS are extremely relevant and get a better deal on traffic. This means your ROI will be a lot higher than your poor low QS competitors.
Now, How do we go about achieving a high QS? Focus on keywords specific to your business. If you sell toys online use the name of your products as keywords. eg. luke skywalker figure, darth vader figure online, online barney doll. You could also include company names. eg. hot wheels toys online. These words are very specific and if someone types this in they are much more likely to convert into a sale than someone typing in "toys" as a keyword. Avoid general keywords like "toys" because you will probably receive a lot of traffic and pay for every visitor on that keyword but it will probably convert at a low rate.
Use your keywords in your ad. eg:
Darth Vader Figures
Save up to 50% on Darth Vader figures
Free Shipping on orders over $25
http://example.com
Make sure that your landing page contains content related to the keyword you bid on. When the searcher clicks the ad above, this might seem obvious but you better have the figure available on your site along with information about the item.
That's how to get a high QS in a nutshell. Remember, relevant keywords, relevant ad, relevant landing page.

More Adwords Advice For More Income To You!



Here's a feisty trick where you can profit from Adsense with the use of Adwords. First you need to find a high paying keyword. It is better if the keyword you will find is worth more than $20 so you're EPC(Earnings per click) would average anywhere from 1$ to 10$. This is just a guess because Google doesn't disclose its revenue share with website owners but many claim its 50%.
Now that you found your keyword, create a page for it. Make sure that you research about that keyword so you could create a page with good content. Put your google adsense code in it.
Now that you have a webpage with ads worth 1-10 dollars per click all you need are people to click on it. This is where Adwords comes in the picture.
Apply for an Adwords account. Create your ads for your new webpage. Here's the most important part, pick as many keywords that are relevant to your new site as possible (maximum of 10,000 keywords) then just bid for the lowest possible ($0.05). You could also used mispelled words. For example if your site is about satellite tv, use keywords like "satelite tv"or "sattelite tv". You could also use other languages for that word. Research on the internet on how to write your keywords in different languages.
Now I think things are getting clearer to you, if not well lets look at the ratio of the above-mentioned procedure: you would pay $ .05 for every visitor so, 100 visitors equals 1 dollar. If one out of those twenty visitors clicked on one adsense ads on your website then you will earn anywhere from 1 to 10 dollars. That means you would only need a CTR (Click-through Rate) of 1% to .1% to get even. Suppose you generate 1,000 visitors a day from adwords and you have a click through rate of 3% with an average of 5$ EPC. You would spend $0.05 X 1000 = $50 on adwords and earn 3% X 1000 X $5 = $150 from adsense. You would earn $100 a day in these scenario or $3000 a month.
The example above is still very modest. There are many variables in the scenario you could improve to increase your earnings more:
EPC (Earnings per click) could be improved if you would filter low paying ads in your adsense account.
You could increase visitors you generate from adwords by increasing the number of keywords you would bid. There are a maximum of 10,000, I suggest you use all.
CTR (Click-Through Rate) could also be improved by placing your ads in the best position in your webpage. Also filter unrelevant ads in your adsense account to increase CTR.

your performance is a function of the quality of your team.

And, the quality of your team is one of your most important life choices.

So, how great is your team? On a scale of 1-10 (high) in each of the ten kinds of team members, score your current team. If you don’t have anybody in any of the categories (for example, you don’t have anyone is a mentee), give yourself a zero in that category.

If your score is less than 70, than I am confident that you could make a quantum leap in improving your performance, in all dimensions of your life, by putting in place the right team and opening yourself up to absorbing their wisdom.

If your score is more than 70, I am confident that you are someone who is doing well with the talents with which you are blessed. Congratulations! But, even you can improve your results in life by looking at how you can improve the quality of your support team. For example, if you have a coach, have you outgrown your coach? Are any of your mentors losing the impact they have historically had on you? Are you in a Master Mind group that has lost it’s way? Etc. Etc. Lifting your score by twenty percent, will…I am confident…have a concomitant improvement in the results in all dimensions of your life.

Life is a team sport. Our success in life is every bit as much a function of the quality of our team as it is in our singular capabilities. Those who will prosper in these tough times will be those who choose to surround themselves with a great team.

Buzz is something every entrepreneur wants to create. Buzz puts your product center stage. It gets you the attention and recognition that will hopefully set your product on a path of continued consumer acquisition.

I've been reading Hacker News for some time, and a question I see asked every so often is about how one generates buzz. It never made sense to me how the very same entrepreneurs who use their creativity and intelligence to think up an idea and develop it, are often the ones who have trouble using those same qualities to generate hype about their products. It never made sense to me because I always viewed the marketing aspect of a product launch to be the easiest and most enjoyable. It's the part of deploying a product that gives you the most creative freedom. You can use videos, posters, business cards, blog posts, etc., etc., etc. to market your product. You have an entire arsenal of creative buzz generating tools at your disposal. That's what I'd tell those who posted their questions, but I really had nothing to prove it. So last week, I decided to walk the walk.

Last Monday, the 27th of April, I noticed the increasing media hype surrounding the swine flu. Not a minute passed where every major news station mentioned swine flu and its inevitable destruction of humanity. I thought it'd be interesting to see what would happen if i whipped up some cheesy shirt designs and sold the shirts online. So I did. At the very least, it would be an interesting learning experience. I booted up Photoshop/Illustrator, created the designs, uploaded them to my site and deployed my store - Flu Shirts. Ok great. I had these shirts for sale, but no one knew they existed. I needed to get attention.

Step 1: SEO

The first thing I did was focus on SEO. Spreadshirt has a handy SEO guide to help their customers better market their stores. With that guide, and my previous minimal knowledge of SEO gained from browsing cre8asiteforums.com, I proceeded to optimize my store. The phrase I chose to optimize the site around was 'swine flu shirts.' I did the usual filling of meta properties, populating the store with content that included my key phrase throughout. But that wasn't enough. I needed to disseminate my link throughout the internet. First thing I did was post on several large t-shirt forums. I would ask an innocent question, then conclude it with my link copied about 10 or 20 times, in the same color as the post background, so as to make it invisible. I then found several blogs who wrote about swine flu and posted comments ending with a link to my store - That's what seemed to have bumped up my store on Google a significant amount. Sure these tactics might seem black hat to some, but to me this was an experiment - one that could potentially make me some side cash, so I ran with it. At this point, my site was roughly the tenth Google result for 'swine flu shirts.' That was great, but I knew there was hardly any demand for swine flu shirts. I knew I wouldn't get many hits from Google as no one at the time was actively looking to purchase a swine flu shirt. What I needed to do was let people know that my product existed. I needed to create demand and that's what I used Twitter for.

Step 2: Twitter

Tuesday morning, I registered my @flushirts Twitter account. The first thing I did was follow all the top celebrities. I used wefollow.com to find out who were the most popular Twitter users, and followed every single one of them. What that did was give me an instant follower count of about 50. Although many of them bots, having followers gave the impression that people were interested. Many of my tweets were often retweeted by those who had automatically followed me, which only helped to disseminate my link throughout. The most useful part of Twitter, and proved to be the most effective, was its search. I camped out Twitter search results for 'swine flu shirts.' People would tweet saying 'how cool would it be if I made swine flu shirts that said [insert clever phrase here].' Once I saw that, I would immediately reply to that user letting them know that similar shirts existed on my site and gave them my store link. The great thing about Twitter search was that I was able to directly communicate with those who were discussing a specific topic. I could directly market my site to those who had expressed their want for a swine flu shirt. Those who I would reply to would then retweet my reply to all their friends. I then soon realized how effective retweeting was. There's a lot of psychology behind it. By having someone retweet my link, they give my product social validation to all their followers. Once people see their friends into something, they follow. I also made sure to end all my tweets in '#swineflu' in hopes of catching those who might be searching the trend at the time. The tweets themselves were written to catch attention. Most of them were along the lines of 'Breaking: cure to swine flu found [link to shirt] #swineflu.' I knew that people would spend no more than 2 seconds reading a tweet, so I needed to grab them a bit longer. I still wasn't pleased, though. I wanted more attention and thought that getting a post on a popular blog would give me the exposure I wanted. I then entered phase 3 of my campaign.

Step 3: Getting Blogged

I went to Startup School '08 up at Stanford last year and listened to Mike Arrington speak about how to get onto Techcrunch. Techcrunch - http://www.techcrunch.com - for those of you who don't know, is a wildly popular blog about web startups. Entrepreneurs have been known to go to extreme lengths to get blogged about on TC. You might know the story about the two Europeans who broke into the TC house in an attempt to get a post. Anyway, Mike Arrington, speaking to an eager crowd of entrepreneurs who would do almost anything to get a write up, constantly reminded the audience to 'create a story.' Don't plug your product by sending the usual pitch and demo. Create drama, fabricate a conspiracy, just make an interesting story. Seemed easy enough to me. Most of my life I've daydreamed and have come up with funny/violent/etc. scenes in my head, so creating a story came naturally. So I wrote a fake leak email to tips@techcrunch.com. I wrote as the CEO of a company called Groopvine, a domain I've owned for years now, to the Groopvine team explaining how we weren't going to pursue usual VC funding, for we weren't being offered good terms, and rather pursue other methods to generate revenue to help fund product development. It was a pretty bizarre story. Wednesday night, after Neurobiology lab, I went to a computer lab on campus and fired up Firefox. Upon loading TC, I was shocked to see one of my shirt designs pictured in the first blog post on the page. It had seemed that they believed my letter and found my story interesting. Granted, they wrote about Flu Shirts, my 'company,' along with another swine flu related product, but it was still a Techcrunch write up nonetheless. To be honest, I'm not quite sure if they really believed my letter. Part of me feels as if they knew it was bogus but just mentioned it as it fit the theme of the post. Who knows. All I know is that I got the TC write up people kill to get. And I'm sure I wouldn't have gotten it had I sent them the usual paragraph explaining my product.

After TC wrote their post, the Washington Post republished the article, and a whole flurry for international blogs followed suit in writing similar posts about monetizing the swine flu. From Spanish blogs to French blogs, and ultimately to the 'My Fox' blog network - Flu Shirts was getting recognition.

Step 4: Forbes!

So Friday morning, I got an email from a journalist at Forbes asking me about my company for a round up piece on marketing. I couldn't believe it. To be able to strut around and say 'I was in Forbes' meant more to me than selling thousands of shirts. I responded with a brief explanation of who I was and how I went about marketing Flu Shirts. I say 'maybe' Forbes in the title of this post as I responded to the journalist rather late, because of a midterm I had to rush to take. So there's a slight possibility I might not get mentioned. But really, just having Forbes contact you for a garbage t-shirt site you set up in no more than 30 minutes is awesome in and of itself. If they do write about Flu Shirts, awesome. That's just more publicity. (Hi Forbes! Please write about me if you're reading this.)

Lessons:

Be imaginative, be creative, be dramatic, and be interesting. You have all the tools you need at your disposal. You don't need a PR team. And be honest with yourself. What would catch your attention? What would make you buy your own product? Find the answers to those questions, and you're heading in a good direction.

Free Advertizing On Face Book?

OK, I bet the post title grabbed your attention. And now I have your attention I’ll explain how just 2 minutes of my time netted more sales than a £250 targetted Google Adsense campaign.

Manchester United CakeI’ve been a member of Facebook for a while now and have amased the completely average total of around 250 friends. Not bad for a 30-something guy, but not great either. But these 250 (real-life) friends helped me achieve something that all of my online marketing nouse couldn’t… Allow me to explain.

For a while now the wife and I have made a little extra income from making custom cakes and a while ago I hit upon the idea that we could generate more business by making a simple website with a small gallery. This coupled with a Google Adsense account, geo-targeted to our local area seemed like a winner of an idea. Unfortunately this idea proved fruitless and left us over £250 out of pocket, which was about the same as we currently charge for around 5 cakes! OUCH!

Fast forward a few months and I realised that for some reason I had neglected to put any cake photos onto Facebook. I just assumed that friends knew we made cakes, but as the famous saying goes “Assumption is the mother of all mistakes”. I simply added a few of my favourite cake photos to my profile and thought no more of it.

Within hours of posting 3 photos, I had received 5 firm orders for cakes along with 2 possibles and an enquiry as to whether we could cater for a buffet for 600 people.

The moral of this story is never underestimate the power of your own personal friend base, or network and never ever be afraid to show off.

Thanks to facebook we have now recouped the cost of the failed Adsense campaign and have learned to keep updating my profile with new cake and food pics as they are created.

1. Break down your numbers,

not just month to month, year to date, and year to year, but also into categories like how many leads, how many new sales by product, average sale, and average product-source. Then, you analyze any and all correlations, implications, and anomalies this data tells you.

2. Have a systematic, strategic process in place

that is designed in a predictable, sustainable, and continuous manner to bring in prospects and first-time buyers. You keep advancing and enhancing them forward to recurring purchases in a predictable enough manner that you can look at your numbers today and accurately predict what your business will be like in 90 days, 100 days, or some other time frame. You're able to engineer specific, predictable growth, year after year, because you're zigging while your competitor zags. He's still using direct mail, while you are conducting Webinars. He's running ads that don't pull, while you're tying in with affinity groups.


3. Produce not just incremental gains but exponential gains by recognizing how your business really makes money.

For example, Costco studied its numbers and realized it made more money from selling memberships than from selling goods in its stores! So it tailors its advertising and marketing to bring people back into the stores to buy things on a regular basis…so they will continue to keep their memberships in good standing. And "The Biggest Loser" TV show promotes The Biggest Loser Club, where an individual pays a yearly membership fee to lose weight in the online Biggest Loser Club. More than a million people choose to do so each quarter. Now that's real leverage!

4. Have clarity about all of the factors that affect your business,

and realize none of the problems they pose are insurmountable. In fact, the vast majority can be improved upon. You now see the potential income in any business situation and how to make it work for you in a most enriching manner. For example, you find that you have one category of buyers 10 times more likely than others, and if you approach them the right way, they are likely to buy 17 times more than your average client. Or when ads no longer work, you know how to get free media. Or when consumers aren't spending as much money, you know how to find alternative propositions to which they can't say no. If marketing at corporate events or trade shows stops working for you, then you develop a distribution channel none of your competitors know about. You've become Wayne Gretzky, skating to where you know the puck is going to be.

5. Understand your competitors' appeal, advantage, and differentiation in the market,

and know how to pre-empt these advantages, or successfully counter-position yourself against them. Take the time and trouble to learn why certain consumers buy from your competitors and not from you, and you know how to change that. Failing to study your competitors' strategies is like playing poker over the phone. You don't get to pick up on their nuances and traits…and you don't learn how to overcome them.

6. Know the alternative products and services that your prospects can buy in lieu of your products and services,

including taking no action at all. Focus on proving to your prospects that choosing you represents the most astute decision any buyer could make. You know how to motivate and persuade them to take action and make buying decisions. You will enjoy not just what I call a "static awareness" or a theoretical knowledge of your marketplace, but how to do something very cool and profitable with your prospects and clients. Remember that until you convince them to make a move, they can just as easily sit on their wallets. That's something you can't afford to permit!

7. Incorporate growth thinking into everything you do,

every action you take, every investment you make, every contact you forge with your buyer or marketplace. Let's take Kevin Trudeau as an example. Trudeau is famous for his books on memory and health cures. He is also a master of the infomercial. You want to know the secret to success? Trudeau succeeds because he first runs ads before he sets prices! He would see how many calls per thousand viewers an infomercial generated, giving the price on his product…and then he set his pricing accordingly to maximize his profits. That's a brilliant approach. Most people just assume they know how much the market will pay for a product or service, but Trudeau takes the unusual -- and highly effective and compelling -- step of listening to the market and seeing what they have to say.

These are just a few of the means of dislodging your business from the rut into which so many once successful businesses have now fallen. Apply some or all of these tactics you'll be back on track to superior success.
